Sous le ciel de
Paris - Giraud |
Janet Goes Continental is her first solo CD. Many comments after Janet's accordion performances mention her attention to detail, and an exactness of presentation show her strict classical upbringing, having trained as a top-level professional at the Royal Academy of Music. Since 2005, Janet has been involved in an unusual and exciting venture in collaboration with classical guitarist Jonathan Prag, a musical duo of accordion and guitar music has evolved with a fusion of sounds and rhythms, culminating in a CD and show From Boulevard to Baroque. Over the last seven years, soprano Wendy Busby and Janet have worked together in a singing and piano duo and have recently recorded a demo CD, Busby and Beale Cabaret, which shows their light jazzy style and lyrical relaxed mood of performance. She has appeared on all mainstream TV channels at various times, performing and accompanying on different instruments and in eclectic styles. Recent broadcasts on BBC Radio 2 on Desmond Carrington's Sunday afternoon spot have played tracks from her collaboration CD Running Wild with cabaret group Red Hot and Blonde. Janet's playing can also be heard on Opus Blue, a CD on the Acoustic Radio Label - previously Black Crow Records. This CD was highly acclaimed by the Scottish musician, Mark Knopfler, of the band Dire Straits. Janet also plays in Moniques Paris Lite Band in theatres throughout the UK.
